Nice Men Put Women In Danger

I was waiting to get a lane at the local indoor gun range and I was watching a couple that were shooting.  The other lady waiting at the same time commented on how good it was that he was teaching her how to shoot.  We watched for a couple minutes and then, I became uncomfortable.  He was putting her in danger for her life.

He loaded his gun and shot.  Then it was her turn to shoot.  He picked up her semi automatic, loaded the magazine with cartridges, put it into the gun, maneuvered  her in position to shoot, racked the slide, and handed her the gun. After he put the target out 10 feet, she shot the gun and hit the target.  Her man then took the gun, checked to see there were no cartridges, unloaded the magazine, and put the gun down so he could shoot.

Can you see the picture?  What would happen if she were in a situation where she had to use the gun to protect herself?  Could she load the gun herself?  Could she rack the slide?  Check to see if the gun were loaded?

No. Absolutely not.

What is her efficacy that she can handle a gun if he is not around?  She has none.

Her friend put her in a position where she is not any more comfortable handling the gun or knowledgeable about how to make sure the gun is safe before he taught her to pull a trigger.  I would not want to be in a room with her if she has to use the gun or even show it to me. She is a danger to herself and to others.

So, Divas, stand firm.

If you are going to put holes in a target you need to learn the full Monte.  If the little man wants to take you shooting: you load your magazine, rack the slide, take off the safety, check to be sure all cartridges are out and take out the magazine.

And, go shoot with the ladies and then go for a manicure and pedicure.

Bottom line is if he can do it, you can do it better, neater, and without an inflated ego.
